The Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe welcomes Kanyon Sayers-Roodsto Nisenan land to host a Listening Circle for “Return California”, YES California’s newest #CalExit initiative. Kanyon is Costanoan Ohlone-Mutsun and Chumash and also goes by her given Native name, “Coyote Woman”. She hopes that you and any interested members of your tribe will join us to present your unique perspective to the people behind this secessionist movement. The Listening Circle will be next week on Tuesday, August 6, from 10am to 2pm at the Banner Guild located in Grass Valley, California, Nisenan Territory.
Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, Sacramento Bee and Politico are just a few of the outlets who have covered this effort, which, upon a successful secession referendum, would see all Federal land in California returned to the indigenous. The goal of the Listening Circle sessions is to move California toward healing the wounds and righting the wrongs of the past, by creating systems that work for everyone and not just the 1%.
The organizers of the movement invite all interested Indigenous Californians/ Indigenous living in California to present information about what (if anything) they could do to receive their support of this initiative. Complimentary food and beverage will be served to all in attendance.
The organizers ask that you contact them @ The Banner Guild (info@bannerguild.org) so they know how much food and beverage to prepare.
Also, email them any questions you would like the Listening Forum to ask.

It’s time for justice. It’s time to honor the treaties. It’s time to Return California. Proper stewardship doesn’t require reinventing the wheel, but simply a return to working with nature instead of trying to control her.
